Shrewsbury: Florence (Patrick) Dunlavey, 95, formerly of Boylston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She leaves her children Bryan and his wife Kelly Dunlavey and Sheila and her husband Dave Miller all of Boylston; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; as well as 2 sisters Iona and Anita in Canada. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Dunlavey, infant son Joseph, and great grandson Hezekiah Miller.
“Mum Mum”, as she was affectionately known, was born in St. Marie D’Ely Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late John and Marie (Viens) Patrick. She moved to the Worcester area with her family in 1964. She was a proud alumna of Broms Academy, graduating with a degree in Cosmetology. She worked as a hairdresser at the former R.H. Whites and then opened the first beauty parlor in Boylston, Morningdale Beauty Salon, for many successful years. Known for her warm hospitality, Florence loved entertaining family and friends. She had a passion for gardening, oil painting, cooking, knitting, clogging, and listening to country music, hobbies that brought joy to her life and to those around her.
Florence’s kindness, creativity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston.
