LuAnn Lee (Venuti) Luongo, age 81, of Medford passed away on Friday, June 14th, at Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (DeMatteo) Venuti. Lee was employed as a secretary for the East Boston court system. She was also a licensed beautician, licensed real estate agent, notary and medical companion. Lee attended daily mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister, demonstrating her deep faith and devotion. Her commitment to volunteering at food pantries, senior centers, and her active involvement in the St. Vincent de Paul Society reflects her caring and generous spirit. When not spending time with her grandchildren she found immense happiness dancing with friends at social gatherings and community events, her vibrant spirit and ability to bring joy to those around her added a special dimension to her remarkable life.
Lee was the beloved wife of the late Richard Luongo, and the devoted mother of Vincent Dattoli, Leanne Carbone and her husband Eric, Rico Dattoli and his wife Leanne, and her late step-son, Richard Luongo, Jr. and his surviving wife Helena. She was the loving grandmother of Mishelle Buckley and her husband Ryan, Gino Carbone, Nadia Carbone, the late Nina Carbone, the late Natayla Carbone, Rocco Carbone, Dominic Dattoli and Julianne Dattoli. Lee was the cherished great grandmother of Aria, and dear sister of the late Robert Venuti. Lee was a remarkable woman who touched many lives through her dedication to her family and community. Despite the sorrow of her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Lee’s family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Sunday, June 23rd, from 4 through 8 PM, and again on Monday, June 24th at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
