It is with deep sorrow, we announce the death of Ann L. Sarno (Russell), age 65, on Sunday, June 16, 2024. She was the daughter to the late Geraldine (Gray) and Lyman Russell. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her home, surrounded by family.
Ann was a resident of Somerville and graduated Somerville High School with honors. She later attended Lesley College, where she earned her Master’s in Early Childhood Education.
While attending university, she started her own very successful home day care. Her love of children and dedication was apparent. She was a beacon of light and hope in our community, touching lives through her kindness and generosity.
Ann is survived by her husband Francis A. “Frank” Sarno Jr., daughter Bridget Stiles and her husband David and grandchildren, Gianna and David Stiles, all of Somerville. Ann was the sister of Jessica Russell of Brockton and Timothy Russell of Somerville, as well as many friends and extended family.
She had such a giving, kind generous spirit and touched so many. Her loss will be abundant for all.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, on Friday, June 28, from 4-8PM. Contributions in her memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
