Jeanne A. (Wirth) Myers, 73, of Starford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 17, 2024 from the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of James A. and Alma M. (Leibfreid) Wirth, Jeanne was born on April 11, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA.
On August 7, 1970 she wed Taylor L. Myers. Their family grew to include three children: Nate, Jeremiah and Samantha.
A longtime member of the Wesleyan Church, in more recent years Jeanne had attended the Dixonville Wesleyan Church in Dixonville, PA.
Prior to her retirement, Jeanne was employed as a substitute teacher with the Purchase Line School District and as an math instructor at the Indiana Center of Westmoreland County Community College. Before her career in education, Jeanne served the Indiana community for twenty years as a mail carrier with the US Postal Service.
Jeanne was a person to keep busy. She was always very active in the church, playing piano, teaching Sunday School, or helping with children’s ministry. In the last six years, she was involved with Celebrate Recovery. Some of her favorite pastimes were sewing and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.
Jeanne’s main focus in her life revolved around her family and her faith. She thoroughly loved being a grandmother and spending countless happy moments with all of her grandchildren. Her passion for Jesus impacted the lives of many people.
She is survived by her husband, Taylor L. Myers of Starford, PA; her three children: Nathaniel “Nate” Myers and wife Tracy of Smicksburg, PA; Jeremiah Myers and wife Jenica of Glen Campbell, PA and Samantha Myers and husband Duane Hampton of Northern Cambria, PA and her twelve grandchildren: Chevelle; Holden; Camira; Saphire; Cynthia; Javlyn; Zoey; Charles “Charlie”; Thea; Phoebe; Tobias “Toby” and Barbara.
Also surviving are her sister, Lois Snyder and husband Marc of Philadelphia, PA and her sister-in-law, Joan Kelley, also of Philadelphia, PA.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; stepbrother, John Kelley and foster son, Tim Wolfe.
A memorial service will be held at the Dixonville Wesleyan Church located at 246 Purchase Line Road, Dixonville, PA at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
