Obituary

HEBRON ---- David N. Nilsson, 44, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI after a brief illness.

He was born in Miami and raised in South Florida, the son of Nils Nilsson, of West Palm Beach, FL and Michelle (Jaques) Matthews, of Hebron, NH. Michelle’s husband Harold (Joe) Matthews was a second father to David for 25 years.
In 1999, David moved to Rhode Island to be with the love of his life, Loni Corneau, and where they started their family.

David was an electrician by trade - he loved pointing out buildings where he had wired or worked. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, and fishing. David loved music, both to listen to, and to play on his guitar. He had eclectic tastes and could be found enjoying classical pieces as easily as rap, hip-hop or rock.

David had a smile that lit up any room and an incredible sense of humor. He often told his mother he was put on this earth to make her laugh, and he certainly did. Most who met him will recount his smile and humor.

In addition to his parents, he leaves two children; Rosalind and James Nilsson, both of Rhode Island; his former wife Loni Corneau; aunts; uncles; cousins; as well as five step-brothers and their families, all of Indiana. He was recently preceded in death by his last remaining grandparent David Jaques (who he was named after).
