Blanche Sikes Junkins, 88, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Her funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday. April 25, 2002, at Tift Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Junkins was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Johnny Johnson, Danny Junkins, Frankie Junkins, Jeff Junkins, Brandt Patrick and Rob Patrick served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Tift Avenue Church of God.
Born June 30, 1913, in Worth County, Mrs. Junkins was the daughter of the late William Franklin Sikes and Weston Aultman Sikes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James T. Junkins, Sr.; six brothers; and three sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mrs. Junkins is survived by two sons, James Junkins of Albany and Billy Junkins of Tifton; three daughters, Mary Lou McDaniel of Adel, Ilone Johnson of Tifton and Jewell Griner of Port Richey, Florida; sixteen grandchildrne; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
