Yvette V. Lessard, 79, died June 16, 2024 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Manchester on May 8, 1945, VE Day, the daughter of Richard A. and Donalda B (Hebert) Lessard.
She was educated at St. Augustin Grammar School, class of 1959, St. George High School, class of 1963, and graduated from Notre Dame College, class of 1969, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education.
She worked her way through college and began teaching in Hooksett. Following that first year, she accepted a position in the western Massachusetts towns of Adams and Cheshire, where she remained for three years. When her father became very ill, she returned home to be closer to her family. In the fall of that year, 1973, she began teaching in the Nashua School District, from where she retired in June of 2005.
She, her mother and her dearest lifelong friend, Lorraine Cote truly enjoyed many trips to Canada, and also touring the Eastern United Sates.
She belonged to the American Canadian Genealogical Society, Yvette, Donalda and Lorraine all thoroughly enjoyed working on their family genealogy.
She was a devout Catholic and was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Litchfield.
Besides her parents, Yvette was predeceased by her sister, Jeannette Lessard also of Manchester.
She is survived by one brother; George Lessard, one sister; Therese Clement and her husband Ronald, and her longtime friend Lorraine Cote all of Manchester. Three nieces; Cynthia Trippiedi and her husband Anthony of Candia, Tracy Debus and her husband, Walter of Nottingham, Kathy Montplaisir and her husband, Ian of Warne, NC., several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield.
Committal prayers will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St.
