Nickolas "Niko" D. Haidusis, 90, of Worcester, died Tuesday, June 11th in UMass Hospital University Campus. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Frene N. (Gourousis) Haidusis; his son, Paul N. Haidusis of Worcester, a daughter, Gina Konica and her husband, Viktor of Charlestown his granddaughter, Athena Konica and their family dog, Quinn. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Simeon Gourousis, of Worcester; sister-in-law, Eugenia Haidusis, his nephew, George Haidusis, niece Raina Haidusis, godson, Todd Stamoulis all of Worcester and several nephews and nieces in Greece. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Haidusis and his sister, Paraskevi Haidusis.
He was born in Plesion Filates, Epiros, Greece the son of Dimitrios and Despina (Mihas) Haidusis and had owned and operated the Maynard Pizza House for over 30 years before retiring. Niko was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a life member of The Order of A.H.E.P.A. where he and his friends enjoyed weekly card games and pool playing. In his younger years, Niko enjoyed travel with friends, but his greatest joy was time spent with family, especially his granddaughter, Athena who he affectionately referred to as "Papou's best". He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
