Frances “Fran” M. Gamlin, 95, of Londonderry, NH passed peacefully on Wednesday June 12, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Fran was born in Bethlehem, NH on December 23, 1928. She had resided in Londonderry for the past 46 years, formerly living in Wilmington, MA.
She was an avid knitter, making hundreds of mittens for the church fair over the years, and baby sweaters for “Knitting for Newborns” which went to hospitals for terminal babies. In addition, she loved to work outside in the garden. She loved to weed, something most people hate to do.
In the hot summer months, she worked with Bob trimming Christmas trees for the winter sales. Hot and sticky work. In the winter, Fran and Bob sold trees every year to people that came from miles to cut down their own tree at the Gamlin Christmas Tree Farm.
She was a caring loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Her goal was always to make sure the house and yard were perfect, that we all ate meals together and all pitched in for chores, in a loving, caring manner.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Robert G. Gamlin of Londonderry, two daughters, Robin Gamlin of Raymond, NH, and Dawn Landry and her husband Raymond of Rochester, NH, seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Susan A. Gamlin in 2013, and by Karen J. Gamlin in 2018, and by her siblings, Robert Miller and Marjorie MacNeil.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 9 – 11 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home, with burial to conclude at Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
