Linda A. Woods, age 85, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away at her home in the care of her family and hospice on Monday evening , June 10, 2024.
She was the beloved spouse of Dorothy R. Dixon, with whom she shared nineteen years of marriage.
Born in Holyoke on April 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Francis Woods and the late Mary (Bleasuis) Woods.
Linda was raised in Holyoke and graduated from the Academy of the Assumption in Wellesley Hills, Mass.
Prior to retiring, she worked for the John Hancock Insurance Company as an office manager and as a private bookkeeper for a Boston area family.
Linda enjoyed playing golf, traveling, skiing and socializing with her friends and family.
She will lovingly be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, and fun loving and outgoing personality.
In addition to her spouse Dorothy, she was loved by Josephine “Pat” Dixon, Delores Scales, Marie Chretien, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends both locally and in Ogunquit, Maine.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, June 15th, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home.
