Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we bid farewell to our beloved brother, uncle and dear friend Dennis Normand Bourcier. Dennis departed from this world while sleeping peacefully at home in Gales Ferry Connecticut On May 31st at the age of 61. Dennis, a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, has left his mark on our hearts with his generous nature, immense humor always ball busting at every chance and his deep love of cooking big meals for his family and friends including grams famous baked beans.

Dennis was born and raised in Woonsocket a son of the late Sylvio and Leona (Dussault) Bourcier. Dennis graduated from Woonsocket High School. He worked at Eversource and was a member of the Laborers Union. He also worked at Urschell Tool and was most recently employed at Job Lot for the past several years.

Dennis was a talented artist expressing himself though his drawings. He took in all that nature and the outdoors offered through hiking and camping, archery and long nature walks. Some very special places for Dennis included Mount Katahdin and the surrounding area. He loved the waterfalls and the vast woods of Maine. It was there that Dennis found his own special sense of peace and tranquility.

Dennis was a skilled card player, learning at a very young age the art of poker, pitch and how to bluff like a pro! Dennis loved to kick back, relax and get lost in the pages of a good book. His love of music ran through every fiber of his being. Anything and everything from the sounds and lyrics of Simon and Garfunkel to the latest hits like Pink, were the soundtrack to Dennis's life.

A large part of Dennis's heart had its very own spot dedicated to his love of animals. Which included his two faithful canine companions, a Yorkie named “Toby” and an Australian shepherd named “Bowzer”. Toby and Bowzer are forever intertwined in Dennis’ heart and soul.

Although Dennis left us way to soon and much too young, his love of family and friends, his dedication and devotion to them, will live on in their hearts forever. That is Dennis Bourcier’s legacy.

Dennis is survived by his siblings including Ronald, Michael and David Bourcier all of Woonsocket, Diane Fafard and Jacqueline Bourcier both of North Smithfield and Anne Marie Bourcier Hallberg of Gales Ferry, Ct. Dennis was the brother of the late Richard “Ricky” Bourcier, Linda Beauchemin and Shirley Ruhland. Dennis is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Dennis was the husband and friend of Gail M. (Laliberte) Bourcier of Woonsocket.
