Joy Elizabeth Hinds, 48, of Smithfield, entered through heavens gates on June 7, 2024.
Born in Connecticut, a daughter of Fred and Diane Hoxie of Lehighton, Pennsylvania and Joanne Miller of Burrillville, Rhode Island.
She had lived in Smithfield for 8 years.
Joy was a loving, and bright soul. She has been through many struggles in her life, but anyone that knew her, knew how strong she was no matter what life threw at her. Her purpose in life was her children, who she loved immensely. She fought a hard fight for them, and her loving and supportive partner Eddie. She had so much courage, and strength, more than she ever believed she had. Joy enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family, hand knitting, spending time with her children, and overall being her stubborn goofy self.
She knew how to brighten up a room with her smile, and she had a contagious laugh. She was an incredible listener, an awesome mom, friend, partner, and daughter. When you described someone with a heart of gold, Joy comes to mind.
She leaves her children, Ashlie D’Agostino of Chepachet, Autumn Cirelli and Ethan Cirelli of Smithfield, her grandchildren: Aaleyah D’Agostino, Corbin Richards. She was the sister of Ryan Hoxie, Michael Hoxie, Jennifer Dowd. She was the loving companion of Edward “Eddie” St. Onge of Smithfield.
A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday June 15th at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.cancer.org
