Salem
Joan M. Madore, 83 of Salem, passed away unexpectedly, at the NSMC/Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted daughter of the late Eugene and Irene (Gagnon) St. Pierre.
Born and raised in Salem, she was a graduate of the former Saint Joseph Academy in Salem. Joan formerly worked at Parker Brothers in Salem and the Salem Public Library for several years. Joan enjoyed watching her daily morning and evening church Masses and she enjoyed watching hockey games and listening to music, both old and new, and reading. She also enjoyed dining out with family after church and events. The love and center of Joan’s life was her children, parents, siblings and most especially the church. In the good times of life and in the tough times, Joan was a faith filled and caring woman. She was a member of the former Saint Joseph Parish, Saint James Parish and currently Saint Anne Parish.
She is survived by her son, Douglas P. Madore of Byfield, MA, daughter, Mary Ann T. Madore of Salem, MA, and sister, Linda Andino and husband, Joseph of Little River, SC as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald J. and Norman St. Pierre and sister Yvette Conley.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette Street [Route 114/1A] Salem on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 9:00 - 11:00 am to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
