Constance G. Blais, 80, of Woonsocket died peacefully Sunday morning June 9, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Manville she was daughter of the late Alphonse and Evelyn (Carey) Bergeron. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life and also lived in Bellingham for several years.
Connie has worked at Mossberg Corporation, Polar Ice Company and the local bowling alley. She was employed for many years as the office manager at Maplewood Farms Association in Cumberland.
One of the most important things to know about Connie was that she absolutely loved her two faithful canine companions Logan and Sugar. Hands down they were the love of her life, sorry kids you’ll have to take a back seat to Logan and Sugar!
Years ago Connie was a familiar voice over the CB radio under the call handle Boxer Lady as a member of the United Talkers club.
Connie had a special talent for knitting and crocheting and crafted sweaters for the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Connie was a self-proclaimed BINGO nut. Watch out world, when it came to bingo Connie didn’t mess around. She took her bingo seriously. Good thing Cynde will continue the family tradition.
Connie will be remembered as a quiet lady but once you got to know her she was lots of fun and laughs and Connie would speak her mind!
Connie is survived by her four children, including sons Joseph Cerrito and his late wife Donna of Coventry, Bruce Blais and his better half Patricia of Blackstone, MA and daughters Linda Legassey and her late husband Russell Legassey of Manville and Cynde Plante and her husband Roland of Johnston. Connie was the proud grandmother of Rachel, Lorena, Molly, Krystal, Jared, Jessica, Ryan, Ricky, Lysha and Drew and her 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Everyone is invited to gather to honor and remember Connie at visiting hours on Friday June 21, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. A prayer service will be held during visiting hours at 7:30 pm.
