Obituary

Lowell - Manuel E. Rosa Jr., 61, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the devoted husband of Maria C. (Melo) Rosa, with whom he would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary next month.

Born on June 3, 1963, Manuel was the beloved son of Manuel Rosa of Tewksbury and the late Lucia (Pereira) Rosa, who passed away last year.

Manuel came to the United States at the age of 11 with his family, settling in Lowell. He attended Lowell Public Schools and was actively involved in the Portuguese community. Over the years, he served on various committees and participated in activities associated with the Holy Ghost. Manuel cherished camping and spending time at the beach, with his favorite moments being those spent around a campfire.

He was a member of the Red's Club and a former member of the Holy Ghost, Holy Trinity, and the Blue's. In the past, he served as a director of the Holy Ghost. An avid collector of model cars, Manuel had an impressive collection. Known for his hard work, he was employed by various local companies, often working as a driver and forklift operator for many years.

Manuel is survived by his wife Maria, of Lowell; his son Scottie Rosa of Lowell; his grandchildren, Aubrielle and Andrew Rosa of Dracut, their mother Nicole Rosa; his brother, Jose Rosa, and his wife Martina of Tewksbury. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Isalino Melo and his wife Denise of Lowell, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his great-nephew.

You are welcome to attend his visitation on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 9am until 11am at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA. Following the visitation, his funeral Mass will take place at Saint Anthony's Church in Lowell at 12 Noon. Burial in Saint Patrick Cemetery. www.mcdonoughfuneralhome.com
