John P. Carbone, aged 77, passed away peacefully on June 8th surrounded by his loving children. He was born on August 11, 1946, in Woburn, MA to his adoring parents, the late Peter and Anna Carbone.
John was a devoted father and Papa to René Carbone Bardorf and her children, Hayden and Anna; John Carbone Jr., his wife Cheryl, and their children, Jack, Colby, and Emerson; Chad Carbone, his wife Amy, and their children, Wesley, Nathan, Cooper, Tucker, and Kellan; Danielle Berdahn and her husband Carlos and their daughters Sofia and Mariana. He is also survived by their mother Dianne Carbone. He was a beloved brother to Salvatore "Champ" Carbone and his late wife, Janice; his brother Peter Carbone Jr. and his wife, Carol; his late brother Joseph Carbone and his wife Connie; his sister Anna Marie Murphy and her late husband, James; and his brother Robert Carbone and his wife, Diane. John was cherished by his 30 nieces and nephews. He also leaves many dear friends and extended family who will forever treasure his memory. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, compassion, and loyalty. His presence brought warmth and joy to everyone he met.
John's strong work ethic began at a young age as a member of his family's business, Peter Carbone & Sons. He managed and maintained a large portfolio of commercial properties and later became a successful real estate developer. He was proud of his Italian heritage and roots in Woburn. He also loved his many years as a full-time resident of Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. Over the years he was an active member of the beach community and will be deeply missed by his beach friends and neighbors.
John dedicated his life to his family. He was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren. He celebrated their successes as if they were his own. Whether it was school, sports, plays, or recitals; what mattered to his family, mattered most to him.
Services will be held as a celebration of his life. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, June 13th, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 14th, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 11:30 a.m. (please go directly to the church). Services will conclude with Military Honors and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. John is a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
