Harold J. Crowell, 80, of Braintree, MA, passed peacefully at South Shore Hospital with his wife by his side on June 3, 2024. Mr. Crowell was predeceased by his parents Harold and Elizabeth (Butkevich), and is survived by his wife Lorraine (Conley) Crowell, Daughter Lauren (Crowell) Durfey, son David Crowell, stepson William J. Poccia and daughter-in-law Michelle Rama-Poccia, his grandchildren and sister Caroline.
Harry left his hometown of Milton, Massachusetts at age 19 when he enlisted in the US Air Force to serve in the Vietnam War. A graduate of Milton High School, he went on to attend Bentley College, and he held a master’s degree from Babson College. He was a longtime Accounting Manager for the Massachusetts Teachers Association and enjoyed to go on cruises with his wife. Harry enjoyed his retirement to the fullest, spending winters in Amber Villas in the Village of Charlotte, Florida.
An avid reader and pool player, Harry was quick-witted and always had a joke at the ready. But what made him special was his unfailing kindness and generosity with his time for his family. He was a devoted, understanding grandparent and husband always ready to lend a helping hand. Harry will be deeply missed and forever loved.
