Daniel L. Hickey, Sr. age 61, of Abington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center-Milton. He was the companion of Paula J. DaCunha.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Fred and Marie E. (Ghelli) Hickey.
He previously worked as a warehouse shift leader at Target in Abington.
Dan was an American muscle car enthusiast and was a Cadillac guy himself. He enjoyed fishing, eating seafood, playing Keno, and listening to music.
Mr. Hickey was known for his stubborn but fun personality; he always got his way. He was always there when needed, just a phone call away. Dan was a protector and fighter, especially for his family. His children brought him much joy.
Besides his companion Paula, he is survived by his children, John Hickey of South Dakota, Jason Cummisky of Randolph, Justin Cummisky of Bridgewater, Daniel Hickey, Jr of Abington, Alyssa Hickey of Randolph, and Cameron Cummisky of Randolph; a sister, Norma Hickey of East Boston; his children’s mother, Pamela Cummisky; and his grandchildren, Lilyana Ebbs, Jason Cummisky, Jr., Madilyn Ebbs, Christopher Cummisky, Dylan Cummisky, and his soon to be grandson, Grayson.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 3-6pm, with a funeral service beginning at 5:15 pm, with Celebrant Joseph Moya officiating. Everyone is invited to attend.
