Jason J. Sabato, 41, of Lowell and formerly a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lowell on Tuesday, June 4.
Jason was born in Lowell on October 1, 1982, a son of Linda A. (Goodness) Engstrom, he was raised and educated in Tewksbury. He was a standout athlete and was active especially in Tewksbury youth Hockey and Soccer. He also played football at Tewksbury Memorial High School.
He served his country with the United States Army for a number of years as a heavy equipment operator before his honorable discharge with the rank of Private, Second Class. While in the army he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon. When he returned home from the Army, he worked in the construction field over the years with various local construction contractors.
Besides his mother, Linda, he is also survived by his son, Antonio Sabato and Antonio’s mother and his former girlfriend, Secia Martinez. He is additionally survived by his brothers, Brian Sabato and John J. Sabato Jr, and his nephews, Nolan and Collin Sabato; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
On Wednesday, June 12, 2024 all are welcome to attend his visitation from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. His funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 12 p.m. followed by burial at Tewksbury Cemetery with full military honors.
