Obituary

John "Jack" Martin Salvucci Sr. passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4th surrounded by the love of his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 77. Born in Quincy, he was a proud longtime Medford resident, the son of the late John F. and Margery P. (Moran) Salvucci.

Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He knew that he had many blessings in this life and his family felt blessed to have him. The last big blessing of his life he received on March 24th of this year, when his granddaughter Fienna Deborah Saggese was born. Holding her in his arms was very moving to him.

Time with family was very important to Jack. Preparing a home cooked meal for them and sitting down to dinner all together as a family was key. Another place he enjoyed sitting with them was at the beach, where they could hang out from sunrise to sunset. Jack was the greatest fan of both of his children’s performances in the entertainment world. He loved being a dad.

Jack was a connoisseur of art, music and sports. A well-read man, he enjoyed learning more about the world by watching the History Channel. He liked the old west and expressed this both by horseback riding and watching westerns. Jack had many friends and he adored serving and walking in recovery with his AA community.

The beloved husband of Deborah (Pagliuca) Salvucci, Jack was a devoted father to John “Jackie” Martin Salvucci, Jr. and his fiancée Kristen Mega and Vanessa Salvucci Saggese and her husband Adam. He was a loving grandfather to Fienna Deborah Saggese. Jack was a dear brother to Sheila Stephenson and her husband George, Sharon Perry, Gayle Snider and the late Leanne Salvucci.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Jack on Sunday, July 14th at 1 PM at Saint Joseph’s Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Please join Jack’s family in this joyful celebration of his life, as they thank God for him and they unite with Jack in praying God’s blessing on the newest member of their family, Fienna, as she is Christened at this same Mass.

To honor Jack, donations in Jack's name (Jack Salvucci), can be made to the peaceful Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA.
