Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rosemarie E. (Lenker) Lingenberg, 85, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Williamstown, Pennsylvania on November 2, 1938, a beloved daughter of the late George and Rosalie (McNamara) Lenker. In 1942, she moved with her family to Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School, and lived in the city for most of her life. She retired from Dion Label Printing Company in Westfield after a very successful career. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Rosemarie was an avid golfer and a longtime coach and organizer for the Saint Anne Athletic Association. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her close friends affectionately known as “The Club.” She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Wilfred E. “Will” Lingenberg. They were married at Saint Mary’s Church in Willimansett on September 19, 1959 and were blessed with 50 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Karen M. Dress and her husband, Dr. Daniel Dress, of Wellington, FL, Kathleen A. Lingenberg and her husband, Paul Pasterczyk, of Longmeadow, Thomas W. Lingenberg and his partner, Ann Rivers, of Agawam, and Robert G. Lingenberg and his wife, Julie, of Chicopee; her ten cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Crystal Grzelak, Daniel Grzelak and his partner, Robert Mowers, Emily Grzelak, Travis Grzelak, Klara Pasterczyk, Luke Pasterczyk, Jessica Lingenberg, Andrew Lingenberg, Jacob Lingenberg and Nathan Lingenberg; her cherished great granddaughter, Addie Harvey; her three dear siblings, Patricia Daubney of Chicopee, James Lenker and his wife, Lynn, of Alton, IL, and George Lenker of Northampton; and her two dear nieces, Mary Beth Gardner of Jeffersontown, KY, and Jennifer Daubney Pavlik and her husband, Robert Pavlik, and their three daughters, of Durham, NH. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her cherished grandson, Justin Lingenberg who was Called Home on July 29, 2019; her dear sister, Kathryn Andrews; and her dear brother in law, Douglas Daubney. Rosemarie’s burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
