Obituary

Edmond J. Daley, 85, of Norfolk died peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Ann (Martin) Daley.

Born in Cambridge on August 23, 1938, he was the son of the late William A. and Bridget (O’Shea) Daley.

Edmond was a resident of Norfolk since 1978 and formerly resided in Jamaica Plain and South Boston.

He proudly served in the US Navy for over 6 years during the Vietnam War era and then worked as a Boston firefighter for over 30 years.

Edmond loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters Elizabeth MacDonald and her husband Scott of Litchfield, New Hampshire and Katherine Tonelli and her husband Allen of Medway, and five grandchildren, Thomas and Michael MacDonald, and Anna, Gabrielle and Bridget Shea Tonelli.

He is also survived by his brother Norman Daley of St. Helena Island, South Carolina, his sister Anne Kelly of Millis, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Gerald Daley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Monday, June 10 at St. Jude’s Church, 86 Main St. in Norfolk at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors at Norfolk Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
