Obituary

Frank Douglas Turrisi, 88, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on June 3, 2024 in his home, as was his wish. As he reminisced on his life with loved ones, he said that he was at peace, having lived a long, full life doing what he enjoyed with people he wanted to be with. He was always able to keep people entertained with the many stories from his life’s experiences.

He was preceded in death by parents Myrtle E. and Frank A. Turrisi and brother Gordon J. Turrisi, and is survived by wife Sharon, daughter Natasha, daughter Elizabeth and son Frank from a previous marriage, step-sons Rod and Trimmer, grandchildren Tyler, Dayna, Harmon, and Emery, and great-grandchildren.

After growing up in South Windham, CT, and serving in the Navy, Frank went to the University of Connecticut, then earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Brown University. He lived in Tallahassee, Florida where he taught at Florida State University and then launched his career as a master programmer of very large database systems in the insurance, banking, and health care industries. He moved to Londonderry, NH, in 1983, where he has lived ever since. He loved eating at his favorite restaurants, spending time in the woods, and enjoying his many hobbies over the years including motocross racing, flying airplanes, kayaking, target shooting, and collecting antique tools. With a soft spot for animals, he was surrounded by beloved pets and usually had a cat in his lap or a dog at his feet.

His family is very grateful for the excellent care given to Frank by the VNA Hospice staff, who kept him in good spirits and as comfortable as possible as he dealt with the effects of cancer.

He will be greatly missed.

Following cremation, there will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00 am in Windham Center Cemetery, Windham, CT.
