Mr. Irvin E. Laroche, Sr., a lifelong resident of Somerville and beloved husband of Janice M. (Muse) Laroche, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday morning, June 2, 2024. He was 87 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on May 22, 1937, he was the beloved son of the late Herbert H. and Laura E. (Rodgers) Laroche. Mr. Laroche was a retired Laborer, serving many construction companies, for many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening around his home, especially caring for his roses. He was a very active fund raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Massachusetts. Above all, Irvin was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife, Janice, Irvin is survived by his loving daughter; Laura J. Laroche of Malden, son; Irvin E. Laroche, Jr. of Malden, grandchildren; Daniel, Jr., Kevin and Matthew, great-granddaughter, Isallena and several nieces and nephews. He was also the loving father of the late Frank Irvin, William C. and Daniel E. Laroche.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 3-7 PM. Interment will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
