Norris Vinson Windham, Jr. 72, of Tifton passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Michael McGaughey officiating. Mr. Windham’s sister-in-law, Betsy Windham, will offer a eulogy. Mr. Windham will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Born July 24, 1951, in Americus, Mr. Windham was the son of the late Norris Vinson Windham, Sr. and Helen Jackson Windham. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Stuart Windham. He received his Bachelor of Psychology degree from Valdosta State University and, before retiring, he was a radio operator with the Georgia State Patrol. He was an outstanding family man, who took care of his family well; and he adored his dog “Charlie”. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Windham is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynne and Jerry Hamby of Tifton and Carolann and Michael McGaughey of McDonough; a sister-in-law, Betsy Windham of Matthews, North Carolina; three nephews, Zac Windham and Benjamin Windham, both of Matthews, North Carolina and Bryan Moore of Tifton; one niece, Marci Honeycutt of Savannah; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
