Ralph Estell King
August 28, 1943-May 31, 2024

Ralph Estell King, 80, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away on May 31, 2024, after an extended illness.

He was born August 28, 1943, to Bert King and Ruth Fern (Cox) King, in Anderson, Indiana. He established his career as a federal meat inspector with the USDA in 1969, where he proudly served for 47 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong fan of IU basketball and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed fishing for bluegill at Dogwood Lake each year with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Susan Kay (Symmes) King; daughter, Robyn Hirsch, of Fort Branch; son, Jeff King, of Markleville; three grandchildren, Tori and Lily Hirsch, both of Fort Branch, and Cole King (Jessi Davis) of Shelburn; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Davis and Heather “Hank” King, both of Shelburn; brother, Carl (Betty) King of Moonsville; brothers-in-law, Dick (Marie) Symmes of Anderson and Tom (Lee Ann) Symmes, of Chesterfield; special neighbor, Robert (Billie) Gregory, and many other family friends.

Services will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 South Rangeline Road, Anderson, Indiana, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at noon officiated by family friend Greg Smith. Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
