Michael J. Grady, Jr. of Somerville passed away Thursday, May 30th at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. He was 74. Raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Belmira Rita (Abreu) Grady.
Michael was a proud employee for many years of Somerville Lumber. Later in life he was a driver for SCM, where his kindness to his passengers was well known. Michael loved watching sports, following all four Boston teams. In his youth he was a great candlepin bowler. He combined his sporting prowess and his loving concern into being a very attentive dad, coaching Erin in little league and being involved in the PTA. He enjoyed going out to eat with his wife, Patty, and traveling with her to Cape Cod. He loved being a grandfather and the joy that Darin and Bella gave him. Listening to music, especially the King, Elvis Presley, was fun for him.
The beloved husband of Patricia A. “Patty” (Khoury) Grady, Michael was the devoted father of Erin Grady and her partner Devin King of Providence, RI. He was a loving grandfather to Darin and Bella. He was a dear brother to the late Ann Duncan, John Grady, Allan Grady, and Paul Grady. Michael is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, June 5th from 10 AM – 12 Noon, with a service in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will be private.
