Joan (Doyle) Doherty, 79, of East Falmouth, MA, formerly of Dorchester, MA passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Boston to the late John and Mary Doyle and was a proud alum of South Boston High School, Class of 1962. Joan spent 25 years of her career at Stop and Shop Corporate Office in Quincy before joining Cape Cod Healthcare.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Peter Doherty, and her cherished daughters and their spouses: Lisa (Dan) Sheehan of Plymouth, MA, and Linda (Mark) Gedgaudas of Plymouth, MA. Joan also leaves behind her loyal fur baby, Jerry. Known for her warm and caring nature, Joan always was available for family and friends, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever needed. She was a devoted mother who exemplified love and support.
Joan adored her precious time with family and friends, her passion for cooking, gardening and entertaining. Her legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Interment services are scheduled at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. On Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 pm.
