AnnMarie Lyons, 77

Dateline: Norton, MA

AnnMarie (Maxner) Lyons, age 77, of Norton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Lyons, to whom she was wed on May 8, 1965.

Born in Boston, MA on August 21, 1946, she was a loving daughter of the late Robert J. and Nancy A. (Feeley) Maxner.

AnnMarie grew up in Foxborough and was a 1964 graduate of Foxborough High School. A resident of Norton for the past forty years, Mrs. Lyons was a retired Supervisor, having worked for over ten years at the former Rachel’s in Foxborough. She was previously employed in the Norton Town Clerk’s Office.

AnnMarie’s family, whom she truly loved, were the focal point of her life and always came first. She was a former parishioner of Saint Martha’s Church in Plainville and for fun, she enjoyed cooking, knitting and especially shopping.

In addition to her husband of fifty-nine years, she is survived by her devoted daughters: Michelle D. Follis and her husband Steven of Mansfield, Robert J. Lyons of Norton, Sean T. Lyons of Norton and Shannon M. Instasi and her husband Joseph of Norton. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of Sabrina Lyons, Amanda Lyons, Rhenna Barry, Kevin Lyons, Megan Lyons, Keera Follis and Mairead Barry. She was the dear sister of MaryLou MacDonald of Hyannis, Roberta J. “Bobbie” Harris and her husband Bob of Norton and the late Teresa Maxner. She is also survived by her much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 5th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her funeral will begin on Thursday, June 6th at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
