Gloria Jean Foster, 75, of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died May 29, 2024, at Catawba Medical Center, in Hickory, North Carolina.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Christopher Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Paulk Funeral Home, in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Mrs. Foster was born November 13, 1948, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late James Aubrey & Evelyn Artie Dorminy Griffin. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, the farm life and reading books by Louis L’Amour. Mrs. Foster loved spending time with her family, and she was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Dawn Graybill & Mark of Newton, North Carolina and Alan Foster & Dayron of Winston Salem, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Cory Rowell and BriAna Rowell and a sister, Brenda Horne. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Foster and a sister, Sherry Sherret.
