WEBSTER – Barbara A. (Sczepanski) Lorkiewicz, 91, died at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 30, 2024 after an illness. Her husband of 53 years, Theodore J. Lorkiewicz died in 2010.
She leaves 3 sons, Robert J. Lorkiewicz and his wife Elena of Shrewsbury, Dr. Stephen M. Lorkiewicz and his wife Patricia of Webster and Gary M. Lorkiewicz and his wife Catherine of Sutton; 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Stacey, Katie, Julia, Matthew and Jessica Lorkiewicz; a brother, John R. Sczepanski of Webster; nieces and nephews.
She was born on June 29, 1932 in Webster, the daughter of John S. and Aniella “Nellie” (Mis) Sczepanski. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School class of 1949.
Mrs. Lorkiewicz worked as a bookkeeper for Central Mass Gas in Webster from 1951 to 1959 and as the bookkeeper and office manager at the real estate office of Dr. Emile DuPont from 1971 until her retirement in 2001.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church.
Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family, especially the grandchildren. She also enjoyed her time at Webster Lake.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Overlook VNA and Hospice of Charlton and Visiting Angels of Worcester for their care and support during her illness.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 4, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A period of visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home prior to Mass.
