Susan J. Bressette, 68, of Anita Road, Johnston, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of Francis E. “Frank” Bressette. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Donald J. and Ella A. (Corsi) Harter. Sue most recently lived in Johnston and had previously lived in North Providence.
Susan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family very much. Susan was also a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for cats. Susan volunteered for a local humane society, Paws Watch, to help better the lives of feral cats and kittens. Known for her cooking and baking, others would greet her with excitement as soon as they saw she had a dish in hand. Although ill in her final years, she found joy in being with her family and being cared for by her devoted husband
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Bethany (Bressette) Joinville and her husband, James of Monson, MA and Donald J. Bressette and his wife, Ana, of Johnston and their son, Antonio Bressette. She was the sister of Kathleen A. DellaTorre and her husband, John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 4th at 11am in St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Monday, June 3rd from 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Paws Watch.
