Diane E. LaValle
Retired U.S. Air Force Procurement Analyst
TEWKSBURY: Diane E. LaValle, age 73, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, MA passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
She was the widow of the late Lawrence M. LaValle who passed away in 2021.
Born in Lowell, MA on August 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Letford and the late Mary (O’Connell) Letford.
Diane was raised in Lowell, MA. She attended local schools and graduated from Lowell High School. She later attended Middlesex Community College and Western New England College. Diane and Lawrence were wed in 1971 and began building their family soon after. In 1975, Diane and her family moved to Tewksbury, MA. Tewksbury is where she grew her family and raised her son Steve and daughter Jen. Diane was an employee of the U.S. Air Force. She worked as a procurement analyst, retiring after 35 years of service. Diane was also an avid volunteer in the Tewksbury Community, supporting many children’s youth and religious programs. She spent hundreds of hours each year volunteering in support of Little League, Pop Warner, Track & Field, and Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) at St. William’s Catholic Church. She was incredibly proud of her relationship with the St. William’s Parish. At St. William’s she served on several committees, assisted with youth programs, and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Outside of volunteering Diane’s primary hobby was to spend time with family and friends, the activity really didn’t matter as long as she was with them.
Diane is survived by two children: Stephen T. LaValle and his wife Mary, of Hampstead, NC; Jennifer L. Carbonneau and her husband Chris, of Dracut, MA; six grandchildren: Jack and Drew Carbonneau; and Ethan, Noah, Madison, and Gavin LaValle; two siblings: Mary “Joyce” Petrie and her husband Marshall of Summerfield, FL; Donna Baribeault and her husband Dennis of Tyngsboro, MA; She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The funeral mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday June 6, 2024, at St. William’s Catholic Church, 1351 Main St. Tewksbury, MA 01876. Procession will follow to Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876. At Diane's request, there are No Calling Hours. Those planning to attend her Funeral Mass are asked to please meet at St. William's Church.
