Roberta A. Shea, 61 years of age, of Charlestown formerly of Milton peacefully passed away on May 27, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the beloved and cherish daughter of Eileen M. (McCarthy) Shea, and the late Richard F. Shea. Roberta was preceded in death by both of her dearly loved sisters, Atty. and FBI Agent Kathleen Shea and Linda Ann Shea, and her grandparents, Peter and Eileen Shea, John and Hanora McCarthy.
Roberta born on August 13, 1962 was the second daughter of the three girls of Richard and Eileen Shea. Roberta graduated high school from Fontbonne Academy in Milton. She then attended and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. She became a Certified Financial Advisor and had a long and fulfilling career working at several financial institutions such as The Boston Company and most recently at Harvard University.
Roberta was kind, smart, funny, and loyal. She loved her family very much, cared for their happiness and well-being, and was so proud of her sisters. Roberta greatly admired her older sister Kathleen for her intelligence, practical personality, and the good times they shared when Roberta visited Kathleen in Washington, DC. Roberta dearly loved her younger sister, Linda, who was also her best friend. She was so proud of Linda‘s accomplishments, especially when Linda won many gold medals in cross country skiing and swimming from the special Olympics. Roberta came home to live with her parents to become Linda’s devoted caregiver for the last two years of her sister‘s life, and she also compassionately took care of her father Richard before he died. She loved being with her mother and especially enjoyed taking her out to dinner and on day trips. Roberta also was a very benevolent person who dedicated many hours to charities that fed the homeless. She thought it was so important in this life to help people in need of assistance. Everyone who knew Roberta felt her kindness and warm, giving nature. She will be missed by both family and friends.
Roberta’s funeral service and burial will be private.
