WEBSTER – Joan M. “Dolly” (Roskiewicz) Raymond, 88, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Lanessa Extended Care Facility. Her husband of 55 years, Herbert G. Raymond, died in 2012.
She leaves a son, Kenneth F. Raymond and his wife Deborah of Danielson, CT; 3 grandchildren, Tracy Benoit, Angela Menard and her husband Robert of Warren, and Katie Galus and her husband Frederic “Eric” of Putnam, CT; and 8 great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Bobby, Gabby, Kaiyah, Tobias and twins Alice and Freddy. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Roskiewicz, Jr.
She was born on December 8, 1935 in Webster, daughter of Walter Roskiewicz, Sr. and Stasia (Arekson) Roskiewicz and was raised in Dudley by her stepmother Jennie (Kasierski) Roszkiewicz. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Raymond worked at the former Bentley Shoe Company for 40 years before it closed. She then was a marker at Filene’s Basement in Auburn before retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 3, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 AM Monday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
