Obituary

Patrick James Connolly entered eternal rest on Sunday May 26, 2024 at the age of 59. He passed from this life in the embrace of his loving family, which he unconditionally adored.

The deep impact he had on those that were close to him is evident in his absence. Pat was well known for his affinity for fun, seemingly always fused with good natured mischief. Everyone lucky enough to be in his orbit, knew they were subject to a quick verbal jab or pressure point, followed by his laugh and bearhug embrace.

He was well known by his friends and family for checking in on their well-being with a daily phone call, and was quick to remind all that he was there for them. Pat was universally known for his hard work.

A native of Norwood, growing up on Pleasant Street, he graduated from Blue Hills Regional Technical High School before entering a career working for the Town of Walpole DPW. He dutifully worked in the graveyard operations for the town, respectfully laying others in their final resting place, and was well acquainted with 24hr+ shifts during inclement weather plowing to keep the roads safe for all, with curbside mailboxes being the only exception.

He was a life-long martial artist, with multiple black belts to his name, and a teacher from experience, always inclined to “show you a move”. He loved the beach and the cold, and was sure to let you know that he was the first into the freezing water every year. He exemplified a quiet strength, enduring the many obstacles that life threw at him with steadfastness, even until his last moments.

Preceded by his parents, James and Mary “Molly” Connolly, Patrick leaves a legacy through his loving wife of thirty years, Karen Connolly, his cherished daughter Ashley (David) Vincent, his beloved grandchildren Cole and Lincoln Vincent, and his loyal dog Cody. One of six, he is survived by his elder siblings Mary (Thomas) Joyce, Sandra (Jack) Scott, James Connolly, Laura (Richard) Bean, and Michael (Lisa) Connolly, all of which whom he shared remarkable, irreplaceable connection. He is missed dearly and is honored by his many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A memorial mass will be held in celebration of Patrick’s life on Saturday, June 8th at 10am, located at Saint Catherines in Norwood, Massachusetts.
