Georgette Blanche (Gaudette) Levesque, age 95, died
May 25, 2024 at the Inn in Deerfield, NH. Known as Georgie to her friends, she was born in Rutland, VT on July 12, 1928. She grew up in Manchester, NH and attended St. George's School.
Married to Arthur A. Levesque on June 30, 1951, they raised six children in New Boston, NH and later in Manchester, NH.
She distinguished herself as a volunteer at the Community Living Center of the Manchester VA Medical Center for nearly two decades. She was recognized as volunteer of the year several years in a row, culminating in a 2009 Spirit of New Hampshire Award in the Senior category. In 2013, she received a second prize Myra Kraft Community MVP award of $10,000 by the New England Patriots Foundation, which paid for a renovation of the laundry room at the VA. After her own "retirement" from the VA, she lived in Manchester until eventually moving to the Inn at Deerfield in 2019.
She is survived by five of her children and their families:
Irma Bauer-Levesque of Cambridge MA (Angela), Elise Johnson of Albany, GA, (Mike), Richard Levesque of Epsom, NH (Jane), Alida Levesque and Ann Levesque, both of Manchester NH, and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Levesque (1999) and her son David Levesque (2014).
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11 am in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
