Barbara F. (Cody) (Ryan) Campbell, 90, formerly of Abington, passed away on May 26. Born in Boston Massachusetts in 1934, one of five girls, to the late William and Mary Cody.
She is predeceased by her first husband Edward Ryan, her second husband George E. Campbell, Sr., her son Brian Campbell, and her son Mark Campbell.
She leaves behind her other children Steven Campbell, of Mattapoisett; Stephen Michael Ryan, of Holbrook; Philip Ryan, of NH; Karen Main, of FL; Daniel Ryan, of Whitman; Claire Krasnow, of Weymouth; Douglas Campbell, of Abington; Laura McNulty and William Campbell, both of Rehoboth; Mary Jo Campbell, of Taunton; Eric Campbell, Paul Jude Campbell, George Campbell, all of Rockland; her sister Ruth Ryan, of Quincy; many grand and great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Her entire life was dedicated to caring for her family. As a long-time parishioner of St. Bridget Church in Abington, she volunteered her time and, especially, her baking skills. Some of her favorite times were her trips with her sisters, the Annual Cody Family Reunion, and holiday gatherings in her home.
Family and friends are invited to Barbara’s visiting hours on Monday June 3, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Tuesday, June 4, at 9:45 AM all are welcome to join at the funeral chapel to follow in procession to the funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. A burial will follow at 1:15 PM in Bourne at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
