Suetta M. (Bussell) Johnson

Suetta M. (Bussell) Johnson, 87, of Anderson passed away on May 27, 2024 at Northview Health and Living following an extended illness.
She was born on January 19, 1937 in Anderson, IN to Claude and Elizabeth (Alford) Bussell. She graduated from Anderson High School, Anderson University and Purdue University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education.
She was an elementary school teacher for Anderson Community Schools for over 30 years. She taught at Lindbergh, Edgewood, Washington, and Forest Hills Elementary Schools. She loved being a teacher. She took several groups of students to England after founding a “Friends in England” club at Forest Hills School.
She was a member of Madison Park Church of God. She was a scout leader. She enjoyed traveling and went around the world on the Queen Elizabeth II cruise following her retirement. She was a member of Psi O Sorority.
She is survived by her one daughter, Jennifer Kellams of Alexandria; two grandsons, Clint Kellams of Durham, NC and Douglas (Ashley) Johnson of Indianapolis; two great-grandchildren, Zayden and Remi Johnson both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Ron (Donna) Bussell of Carmel and Don (Jenny) Bussell of New Palestine; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Douglas Johnson; and a brother, Richard Bussell.
A graveside service will be at 1:30pm on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Hilligoss officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association.
