Marguerite “Maggie” Kathleen Martin was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and friend. Maggie peacefully ascended to heaven on May 25th, 2024 at the age of only 25 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family whom she loved so dearly.
Maggie was born to Peter and Kimberly Martin on November 16th, 1998. As a toddler, Maggie developed a talent for singing and never stopped. In addition, she developed a love for acting in elementary school. Maggie always said that she felt most at home on stage and/or singing. She chased her dream of acting and completed her Bachelor’s degree in theater arts at Gordon College in 2021. In the following years, she starred in various roles in prominent renowned productions such as Annie and Chicago in theatres across Massachusetts. She worked in the technical department at North Shore Music Theatre and loved every minute of her time there.
Maggie was a bright light to all that knew her. She had a very special soul – unfailingly sweet and always had a kind word for everybody she came into contact with. Her gentle, beautiful soul touched many lives.
Maggie’s favorite experiences involved time with family. She loved her family above all else. She was never happier than at family get togethers. Her laughter was infectious and her smile was contagious. She often said that her proudest position was being an auntie to her niece Shea, seconded only by time spent with her cousins.
Maggie lived a life of positivity with a glass always full outlook, no matter what challenges she faced. Her first words were “I love you” and she never stopped saying them. She was generous with praise for others and always, always enjoyed a warm hug.
She leaves behind her parents, Kimberly Martin of Wenham, MA and Peter Martin of Danvers, MA; her brother Patrick, his wife Hannah and niece Shea of Jacksonville, FL; her grandparents John and Marguerite Lynch of Winchester, MA; her Auntie Linda and cousins Christopher and Michael of Amesbury, MA; her Uncle Gregory Lynch and cousins Nicholas and Amanda of Land o Lakes, FL; her Uncle Kenny and cousin Charlotte of Tarpon Springs, FL; her Uncle David and Auntie Michelle and cousins Katie and Emily of Canton, MA, and her Uncle Anthony and Auntie Louise and cousins Alexander, William and Piers of Surrey, England.
In addition, Maggie leaves behind her Grand Uncle J William Breslin of Rockport, MA; her Great Aunt Joan and Grand Uncle Leo of Stoneham and Rockport, MA; and her Great Aunt Evelyn of Rochester, NY. In addition to family listed here, Maggie leaves behind many 2nd and 3rd cousins both in the US and in the UK, all of whom she loved.
