Philip G. Francis, age 83, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Born in Somerville on May 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Vincent L. Francis and the late Jane M. (Gormley) Francis.
Philip was the husband of 58 years to Maureen T. (Cadigan) Francis, of Tewksbury. Devoted father of Philip V. Francis, of Wilmington, Timothy M. Francis and his wife Tammy, of North Andover, Colleen T. Layon and her husband Jaime, of Wilmington, and Shannon J. Latta and her husband Wiliam, of Lowell. Grandfather of Samuel Francis, Shanae, Irisa and Brayden Francis, Amanda Layon, Nichole Hubbard and her husband Kris, Adrianna Velez and her husband Capone, McKaleigh Latta and Shaelynn Latta. Great grandfather of Kaiden, Eva Rose, and Jedediah Velez, and Adalynn Hubbard.
He leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Philip was predeceased by two sisters.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 29, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Thursday, May 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org
