Patricia A. Allard, R.N., 92, of Pheasant Run, Smithfield, died Thursday, May 22, 2024, at her home and in the arms of her loving daughter. She was the widow of John E. Allard.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Alice M. (Ryan) Scott. She had lived in Smithfield for nearly sixty years.
Patricia was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Northwest Community Visiting Nurse Association, often serving in Gloucester and Foster, and had previously worked at the former Lying-In Hospital in Providence.
She was a volunteer at East Smithfield Public Library and the San Miguel School in Providence. She served on the board of the Lucy C. Ayers Memorial Foundation, dedicated to providing financial aid to nursing students.
She is survived by her children: Fr. John E. Allard, O.P., of Providence, and Nancy Allard of Smithfield; her grandchildren: Louis Guglielmetti, Jr., Matthew, Daniel and Kelsey Allard; and her great granddaughter, Skye Noelle. She was the mother of the late Robert S. Allard and grandmother of the late Nicholas M. Guglielmetti.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 635 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 4-7pm in Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
