Obituary

Anita L. Amato, 99, died May 22, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of failing health.

She was born in Manchester in 1925 to Frank and Cecile (Fournier) Tessier.

She attended local schools, then worked at Bee Bee Shoe Co. and later at Sacred Heart Hospital as a nursing assistant.

She taught CCD classes for 11 years at St. Peter Church in Auburn, then for 11 years at Pine Haven Boys Center in Allenstown. She was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts for several years.

Her hobbies were painting with oil paints and enjoying her cats. The Holy Bible was her favorite book.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Anthony Amato.

She leaves her two beloved children, Nina Amato of Manchester and Anthony F. Amato of Hooksett., and family members, Itala LaBonte from Montreal, PQ. and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her sister, Berthe Warner of Pembroke, NH.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10 am in St. Peter Church in Auburn.

Committal prayers and entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
