Obituary

George "Buddy" Rebello, 88, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his home in Wrentham following an illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Hayden) Rebello.

Born December 18, 1935 in New Bedford, MA. A son to the late Manuel P. Rebello and Evelina (Benevides) Rebello. He was a former resident of Holliston and Franklin before moving to Wrentham 6 years ago.

He was raised and educated in New Bedford and was a graduate of Dean Jr. College in Franklin. He worked in various positions for John Hancock in Boston for 33 years, retiring in 1992.

George was a devoted husband and father to his sons. He enjoyed spending time with his family going to the grandkids baseball games, traveling to Aruba, Maine, Myrtle Beach and Disney World.

He is survived by his sons, George M. "Mike" Rebello and his wife Sandra of Fredericksburg, VA, Robert W. Rebello and his wife Hilary of Bellingham, MA, Stephen E. Rebello and his wife Christine of Franklin, David M. Rebello of Oxford, MA and Brian T. Rebello and his wife Donna of Myrtle Beach SC. A brother Manuel P. Rebello, Jr. and his wife Regina of South Darthmouth, MA, 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was also the brother of the late Diamantina MacKedsy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday May 29th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Wrentham Fire Department 79 South Street Wrentham, MA 02093.
