Melva Leiter, 90, of Ventura, California passed away on May 20, 2024. Melva was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 22, 1933, to Frederick Hyman and Sarah Goldstein. Melva moved to Ventura in 1996. She worked in retail for many years, and was a senior volunteer with the Ventura Police Department. She loved classical music and opera, mahjong and word games.
Melva is survived by her children, Fredda Leiter and Maury Leiter; her grandchildren Sarah Leiter, Mandy Leiter, Ariella Leiter, Danna Friedman, and Max Friedman; and her great-granddaughter, Millie Leiter Painter-Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Leiter; and her daughter, Debra Leiter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in honor of Debra.
