Obituary

HOLLIS- James L Fisher, 76, of Hollis, Me, passed away peacefully at his home on May 21,2024 with his family by his side, after a long battle with kidney failure.
James was born April 20th, 1948, in Bernardston, Ma to Alice E Surridge and Oliver L Fisher and grew up in Gill, Ma. James
worked in a variety of careers making him the Jack of all trades. He worked at the Oxford pickle, drove truck with his second wife Joyce, dabbled as a mechanic, and did carpentry for Wheaton Builders. James married Kathleen Axtman and had three children. Later on in life he met Lorna Murphy and had one child and 2 stepchildren, who he loved and helped raise them as his own. James went on to marry Sandy Fisher who predeceased him. Many years ago, James was also part of the Mountain Men MC and one of the biggest motorcycle enthusiasts. He rode everywhere he possibly could up until the respectful age of 71. He also loved to fish and did a lot of hunting in his younger years. James was predeceased by his parents Alice Surridge and father Oliver Fisher in his early adult years. Also, by his siblings Oliver Fisher, Dot Fisher, Calvin Fisher and Alan Fisher. James is survived by his sister Diane Burrington and husband Harold Burrington, and his brother Oliver “Junior” Fisher. He is survived by his children- April Everhart and husband Jamie Everhart, James Fisher and wife Deanna Cox, Jennifer Fisher, Breanna Fisher, Brandi Blanchett and husband Nathan Blanchett and Ron Richards and wife Jessica Bucknell. He is also survived by his grandchildren- Bobielynn. Kimmy, Jamie, Logan F. Cassidy, Nathan Jada, Miya Rose, Isabelle Justice, Maria, Hazel, Logan R and his great grandchild Luke Michael Putnam. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren in VA, and the many that called him Grandpa, that he loved as his own. He was also
survived by many nieces and nephews whom he cherished and loved dearly.
A service will be held on Saturday June 15th at 3 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A gathering will follow at 38 Dyer Lane, Hollis, ME 04042
