Obituary

Esther Andrea (Angelos) Winslow, of Chatham, MA (formerly of Brockton and Stoughton), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 1st, 2024. She was born on October 26th, 1934 in Stoughton, MA, to Andrew and Elizabeth (Hiotas) Angelos.

Esther met the love of her life forty-seven years ago, Gerald (Rick) Miszkin. Together they were inseparable and pursued many interests together. This included fishing, “Best angler I ever saw.” Says Gerry of his Esther. Esther even won the Governor’s Cup for women with the largest Striped Bass caught in the state.

Throughout her life, besides being a great angler, Esther had enjoyed many other activities, including motorcycles, snowmobiles, and a good concert. She had a love of skating. She was the Bookkeeper for the Bourne Skating Club. In addition, she was a national accountant for the US Figure Skating Association. She ran her own transportation company for many years. She was a graduate of Stoughton High School and the Sinot Computer School. Esther was meticulous in her work ethic and attention to detail.

She took great pride in her Greek heritage and often shared her cherished Greek recipes with her family. She had visited Greece many times with her beloved sisters’. She even visited her parents’ place of birth.

Her family was very important to her. She never missed remembering a birthday, holiday gathering or event of her grandchildren, grandnieces, or nephews’. She became the matriarch as the years passed. If anyone wanted to know of any family news, she was the one to call. Esther’s positive spirit and generosity touched many lives. Esther will be sorely missed.

In addition to her devoted partner Gerry. Esther is survived by her three children: her daughter Elise (Winslow)Coffin and her husband Tony, her daughter Stacey (Winslow) Recanzone and her son Alvin Winslow and his wife Mindy. She had four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She leaves her cherished Brother Bill Angelos and his wife Lullene of Florida. She also leaves numerous nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Ted, Nicholas, and Steve Angelos, sisters; Helen Durling Ingraham, Julia McLea and Mary Anna Andolina.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 8th, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at 40 Alexander Drive Yarmouthport, MA 02675.
