LACONIA ----- Robert ‘Bob’ James DuBois, 83, of Academy Street, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on December 14, 1940, in Barre, VT, the son of Sylvio and Virginia (Bennett) DuBois.
He was a 1959 graduate of Laconia High School, where he met and later married the love of his life, Leslie Ann (Sanderson) DuBois. He was a three sport athlete throughout high school. They were married for 55 years. Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his wife. They took trips over the years to Canada, Florida and even the Great Lakes to hunt and fish. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob and his wife were successful business owners, owning and operating Laconia Monument Company since 1967.
Bob is survived by his daughter Lisa A. DuBois of Belmont, three grandchildren, Ian J. Shaw of Belmont, Kaitlyn A. Shaw of Pembroke, and Colin W. Shaw of Belmont, brothers Charles DuBois and his wife Charlotte, of Laconia and Paul DuBois of Belmont, brother-in-law Boyd W. Martin of Braintree, MA, and four nieces and four nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife Leslie DuBois, son Gregg C. DuBois, and sister Sylvia A. Martin.
The family wishes to extend a tremendous thank you to their dear friend, Deb Maheux Pilling for all of her love and support throughout this time.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
Burial will be held privately in the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Laconia.
