WORCESTER___Ann B. (Shaughnessy) Klejna, 91, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester passed away on Monday May 20, 2024 in UMASS – Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. Her husband of 65 years, Peter M. Klejna died September 30, 2021.
Ann leaves 30 nieces and nephews, in particular her niece, Kathleen R. Cashin and her husband, Michael and their daughters, Meghan and Mollie, and nieces and nephews far across the United States, England and Ireland. She also leaves cousins in the United States and Ireland. Ann was born in Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland a daughter of the late Patrick and Julia (Connaire) Shaughnessy and was the last surviving of her siblings having been predeceased by Margaret, Joseph, Norita, Patrick, Teresa, Michael, Dominic, Mary, Jerry, Thomas and Rosaleen. Ann emigrated to the United States many years ago and was a graduate of the Worcester School of Business.
Mrs. Klejna was a payroll accounting clerk and secretary for many years and worked for several companies in the Worcester area before retiring. Ann was a member of St. George’s Church. She loved spending time with her husband whether at home or traveling. When she was younger she enjoyed Irish knitting.
The funeral will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. Friday May 24, 2024.
