Edes Saint-Elien was born on March 6, 1939 in Saint Marc, Haiti. Edes was the product of the union of Fayiton and Marie Claire Thomas Saint-Elien. Edes passed away on May 18, 2024.
Edes Saint-Elien was a famous soccer player in his native country, Haiti. He played for Haiti in many international soccer games . He was an ardent Christian. His Christian values dictated how he lived his life.
Edes left Haiti in the 1960's in search of a better life. He settled in Boston. He worked for Benjamin Health Care Center for many years. He was also a cab driver.
He is preceded in death by his brother Wilfrid Saint-Elien, his daughter Murielle Saint-Elien, his son Dickens Saint Elien who he will meet again in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Lamercie Saint-Elien, his sons Georges and Edner, his sister Honorine who knows Edes will be waiting for them in the afterlife as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edes was kind, gentle, and jovial. He was an attentive husband who loved his wife with all his heart. Edes loved life. His jokes ignited joy in every gathering. His infectious smile and laughter turned ordinary moments into extraordinary ones. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will undoubtedly continue to cheer us on from above. He will be missed by his family, friends, and church community.
Viewing hours will be on Saturday June 1, 2024 from 9-10 AM followed by a Religious Service from 10-11 AM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
